Certificate III in Allied Health provides students with the knowledge and skills that will enhance their employment prospects in the Health industry. These qualifications cover workers who provide assistance to allied health professionals and other health professionals with the care of clients.

The program is only available to VCAL students and enables them to complete the certificate through one day of training and one day of work placement. Essentially this means that VCAL students have a full five days per week program. Three of those days will be VCAL classes, one day to undertake VET Allied Health Assistance coursework and one day to undertake work placement, which is organised for students as part of the course. In 2019 the coursework component took place at Somerville Secondary College.
 
Students are paid for their work placement through government subsidies at a rate of $10.63 per hour (Year 11) and $11.72 per hour (Year 12), for up to 7 hours per week. Whist students may elect to undertake this course, final admission is subject to completion of a formal interview process to assess suitability.
